Declawed Cats

As many people are aware, declawing consists of amputating not just the claws, but the whole phalanx (up to the joint), including bones, ligaments, and tendons.  For information on declawing and suggestions on re-directing cat scratching behaviors, refer to the link on the left titled “Declaw Information”.

Regardless of one’s views on declawing, the fact remains that many housing establishments require that cats be declawed.  CCS currently has several declawed cats that have been rescued from the local pounds.

If you are looking for a cat and are thinking about declawing, stop by the shelter and check out our declawed felines.  We are located at 9  9th Street South, Fargo.  Open House hours are Tuesdays 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Saturdays 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.  Tours are also avalilable upon request by appointment.  You can reach us at 701-356-7877.
